S ——small，小號，
M ——MEDIUM，中號，
L ——LARGE，大號，
XS —— EXTRA SMALL 特小號

后來英國工業(yè)革命，
工廠發(fā)揮到了極致
工廠就依據(jù)一個國家的人的
平均身高胖瘦發(fā)明了號碼，
來便于服飾商品的銷售。

Mark: Well, I'm kind of a clothes horse—at least I used to be.

Jingjing: Now you could go for a yearor more without buying any new clothes, right?
京晶：那現(xiàn)在你能一年多都不需要再買新衣服了吧？

Mark
Mark: Exactly. All I've bought in over a year were socks.

Jingjing: Is it easy to find your size here in China?

Mark: I'm pretty sure they only make one or two sizes.

Jingjing: Not just for socks, silly! I meant, can you find sizes for shirts and trousers?

Mark: Oh, that's pretty easy. Some of my foreign friends have trouble, though.

Mark: Some of my friends are heavyset,or quite tall, or both big and tall.

Mark: That's what I keep hearing. I'll recommend it to them.

New words : 習語短語：
This old thing? I've had it for years.
這件舊的？我都穿了好久了
(This is a common stock expression, which someone uses after being flattered about something they're wearing.)
clothes horse(someone who has a large collection of clothes)
原本指用來晾曬衣服的晾衣架necktie；現(xiàn)在多喻指愛時髦，喜歡買很多衣服的人，可譯為“活衣架”。有人說“女人的衣櫥是永遠塞不滿的?！?
go for (a year)持續(xù)……時間
(last for, i.e. I can go for three days without food.)
silly 傻的(shortened form of silly guy)
big and tall folks 高大魁梧的家伙
(people who have larger than average bodies) (A big and tall shop is a retailer who specializes in larger clothing sizes.)

Jingjing: I was wondering, are the sizes much different in the US?

Mark: Well, they use small, medium, large and extra-large for most casual clothes.
馬克：是這樣的，他們用small（小）, medium（中）, large（大） and extra-large（加大）來標記大多數(shù)休閑類服裝。
Jingjing: That's the same as in China.
京晶：這跟中國是一樣的。
Jingjing
Mark
Mark: Yes, but you have to watch out. A medium in one brand can be as big as an extra-large in another.
馬克：是的，但是你還得小心。一個牌子的中號可能跟另一個牌子的加大號一樣大。
Jingjing: I guess it makes sense to try stuff on first.

Mark: Definitely. I've gotten some pretty good deals on clothes that were labelled with the wrong size.

Jingjing: Hmm. Do they ever use exact measurements?

Mark: Suit jackets and blazers are measured by bust. That's done in inches. Actually, it's the same with trousers, for the waistandinseam.

Jingjing: What about shoes?

Mark: A shoe salesperson will know the European sizes. It's best to use those, because American sizes are just slightly different from Chinese sizes. So, it's better to tell them 38, 40, 42, and so on.

Jingjing: Go by European sizes for shoes—got it. Hey, how about women's clothes?

Mark: Well, for something semi-formal or formal, there are numbered sizes, usually from 6-12.

Jingjing: I usually just try everything on before deciding.

Mark: I just eyeball it, and am usually right about the size, even when buying for other people.

（白色條紋）樂隊于1997年成立于美國底特律，音樂風格主要是Grunge和Indie Rock，主唱/吉他/鋼琴是Jack White（男），鼓手是Meg White（女）。樂隊已發(fā)行六張正式專輯，2004年樂隊曾獲得兩座格萊美獎。
The White Stripes因為他們曾經(jīng)的集大成的瘋狂舉動和想法出名，他們的專輯除了吉他和鼓點，以及一些對白錄音，還運用了墨西哥民謠、美國鄉(xiāng)村、蘇格蘭小調(diào)以及吉普塞弗拉門哥，這種疊加融合創(chuàng)造了新時期搖滾混合理論的典范。這張專輯是他們加入華納公司后出品的首張專輯，《Icky Thump》也是他們首支登上Billboard排行榜熱門100里前40名的一支單曲。
《Elephant》那張專輯里的《Seven Nation Army》以及《Get Behind Me Satan》專輯里的《Blue Orchid》藐視名聲和誘惑，《Icky Thump》也有一個話題：移民?！禝cky Thump》、《Bone Broke》等還是可以讓人感覺到那個渺視一切的白色條紋樂隊。
另兩個最出色的展現(xiàn)了杰克的寫歌水平的也許是運用偉大哲學命題的《因果》（Effect & Cause）以及錄制了Jack和Meg一段可愛的對話的《Ragand Bone》，回到了樂隊早期的藍調(diào)時代，展示了這對兄妹的精神漫游——“富麗堂皇的房子/小狗的房子/門外的房子/老伙伴的房子/未婚媽媽的房子……為祖母時代的電話尋找科技轉(zhuǎn)換……”他們驕傲地樹立了自己的音樂風格，并且“賺到一些錢”。從2001年的《WhiteBlood Cells》開始，他每兩年推出一張新專輯。這一次杰克將黑色搖滾實驗發(fā)揮到爐火純青的地步，無論從聽覺還是視覺上都不會虧待。
《YouDon' t Know What Love Is》也是一首反男性至上論的歌曲，比《Blue Orchid》更宏大、更緩慢，杰克加入更多車庫元素，讓這張專輯很容易變成他最大聲的一張專輯。他們的聲音總是伴隨著你，而那些聲音也代表了他們本身。
