北京冬奧會火種2021年10月18日在奧運會發(fā)祥地——希臘伯羅奔尼撒半島的古奧林匹亞遺址采集成功positivity，火種映紅天際。隨著火炬?zhèn)鬟f的進行，北京冬奧會火種將穿透依舊籠罩在全球的新冠肺炎疫情陰云，照亮人類團結(jié)合作、共赴時艱的前路，點燃屬于全人類的希望之火。

The Olympic flame for the Beijing Winter Games was collected on October 18, 2021 at the ruins of ancient Olympia in Peloponnese, Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The lighting of the flame sets in motion the torch relay that will bring the flame to Beijing. It shows humanity’s resolve to emerge from the shadow of a pandemic that is still wreaking havoc across the globe. It lights our path forward, a path to unity, and inspires us to overcome shared challenges ahead.

這是希望的火種。在古希臘神話中，普羅米修斯為人類盜取火種，這是古代奧運會點燃火種的由來，火種采集也成為現(xiàn)代奧林匹克運動中最具標志性的活動。當下，新冠肺炎疫情的陰霾在全球范圍內(nèi)依然籠罩，東京奧運會已經(jīng)證明奧林匹克運動擁有凝聚力量、共抗疫情的強大感召力。北京冬奧會火種的采集成功，意味著奧林匹克火種將又一次帶給人們信心、溫暖和希望。中國作為疫情控制最好的國家之一，也將向世界傳遞攻堅克難的堅定信心positivity：疫情終將過去，希望永在前方。

The flame symbolizes hope. Rooted in Greek mythology, the lighting of the flame at the start of ancient Olympic Games celebrated the passing of fire Prometheus stole from Zeus to humankind. This ceremony has survived the passage of time and remained a most emblematic event of modern Olympic Games. Held amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tokyo Olympics attested to the power of the Olympic Movement to help build cohesion and resilience in the face of adversity. The lighting of the flame for Beijing 2022 gives us another shot of confidence. As one of the countries that have mounted the most effective coronavirus response, China is poised to help unleash the power of positivity and optimism across the world: the pandemic will be behind us and hope is always there.

這是團結(jié)的火種。在這個夏天結(jié)束的東京奧運會前，國際奧委會更新positivity了沿用百年的奧林匹克格言：更快、更高、更強——更團結(jié)。面對種種全球性挑戰(zhàn)，團結(jié)變得前所未有地重要。奧林匹克運動敏銳地與時俱進，這與中國提倡的構(gòu)建人類命運共同體不謀而合。隨著北京冬奧會火種采集成功，距離北京冬奧會開幕還有109天，全世界將再一次匯聚在五環(huán)旗下，人類將再度展現(xiàn)團結(jié)合作、戰(zhàn)勝困難的勇氣和信念。

The flame symbolizes unity. Ahead of the Tokyo Summer Olympics, the IOC amended its century-old motto to include the word “Together”. The updated motto reads: “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together”. Amid mounting global challenges, solidarity has assumed more importance than ever before. This change reflects the Olympic Movement’s keen interest in keeping in tune with the times. It’s a move that dovetails with China’s call for building a global community with a shared future. The flame lighting ceremony reminds us that the Games are just 109 days away. The world will once again gather under the five-ring flag in a display of unity, courage and resolve to beat whatever odds we are facing.

這是創(chuàng)造歷史的火種。北京將書寫奧林匹克運動全新的歷史篇章，成為有史以來第一座既舉辦過夏季奧運會又舉辦過冬季奧運會的城市。更重要的是，北京冬奧會實現(xiàn)了在東方大國普及冰雪運動的的宏大愿景，這是中國對奧林匹克的貢獻，世界冬季運動也將迎來全新的發(fā)展機遇。北京冬奧會還是首次從申辦開始全面踐行國際奧委會辦奧新模式的一次盛會，將為辦奧模式建立新標桿。

The flame symbolizes a new milestone.Beijing will become the first city to host both the Winter and Summer Games, opening a new chapter in the history of the Olympic Movement. More importantly, Beijing 2022 is propelling a surge in popularity of winter sports in China, a huge boost to the Olympic traditions, and will offer fresh opportunities to reinvigorate the global landscape of winter sports. The IOC’s “New Norm” reform measures are being implemented for the first time from the start of the host election process to the organization of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The way the Beijing Games are organized will be a benchmark for future Games.

一起向未來！這是北京冬奧會、冬殘奧會的口號，也是全世界人民的心聲。相信熊熊燃燒的北京冬奧會火種，將為奧林匹克運動、為全世界再度點燃心中不滅的希望之火。

“Together for a Shared Future” is the official motto of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. What this motto means resonates with people the world over. We believe that the lighting of the flame for Beijing 2022 will not only energize the Olympic Movement but also rekindle hope across the world.
